Writing began as a form of therapy—a quiet place to wrestle with the weight of a difficult calling that brought him face-to-face with more evil than he ever cared to encounter. Over time, it became a way to translate hard-won victories, devastating setbacks, and the faithful presence of a loving God into story. The darkness he’s encountered—both personally and professionally—deeply informs his fiction, as does his belief in a God who calls, empowers, and equips ordinary people to do extraordinary things (Romans 8:30; Acts 1:8; 2 Timothy 1:7; 2 Thessalonians 3:3).

Drawn to speculative fiction from an early age, Ben found refuge in stories filled with wonder, danger, and the battle between good and evil. Today, he writes in that same tradition, crafting gritty supernatural fiction with biblical insight—stories that confront darkness honestly and point clearly toward truth. This is fiction that doesn’t flinch.

Ben Ransom holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Loyola University Chicago and is an active member of the Jerry Jenkins Writers Guild. He serves on the worship team at his church and fits his hobbies around his greatest calling and achievement—his loving wife and three beautiful daughters.

When he’s not writing or reading in the speculative genre, Ben enjoys handcrafting espresso drinks, staying active, and immersing himself in story-driven video games.
